Some College Football fans will tell you Louisiana is known for the LSU tigers. Clarky might even try to convince you that Louisiana is famous for the Tuttle murders in True Detective. But most human beings would tell you that the best part of Louisiana is New Orleans’ Bourbon Street. This strip of bars offers an endless supply of booze and entertainment making it the top destination for drunkards all over the world. Of all the drinks you can get on Bourbon Street, there is one that stands out as iconic: The Hand Grenade.
Dubbed as New Orleans’ most powerful drink, you can spot the bright green Hand Grenade yard sticks all over Bourbon street. Unfortunately for us, the recipe is classified, which means the only way to get a true hand grenade is to visit New Orleans. We’d love nothing more than an excuse to go back to Bourbon street, but we couldn’t wait for the next trip. Instead, we formulated our own recipe that would get as close to the original as possible from the comfort of our own homes. The flavor is sweet but boy does this drink have a kick. So this game day, pull the pin and let her rip, because this is one grenade you won’t mind diving on.
Cheers to Game Day.
