The Coronavirus is affecting us all, some more than others. Last week, I drove downtown through the heart of Saint Pete which is usually a pain in the ass to navigate due to the endless traffic. However, what is usually a flourishing city filled with bars, breweries, coffee shops, boutiques and restaurants was an absolute ghost town. It was heartbreaking. So many small businesses either temporarily closed or open strictly for take out.

We all watch the news but until you see how it affects the area you live in, it doesn’t kick in. Like the image of a tumbleweed blowing in the wind of a forgotten desert town, this became a reality. Which is what sparked my drive to compose this article.

Below is a list of local breweries, restaurants, boutiques, coffee shops and other small business within the areas of Tampa, Saint Pete, Apollo Beach and Fort Myers you can still support in these trying times. Regardless of your location, remember to shop small because they are the real driving force in America. Also, remember, we too are a small business… if you’re feeling wild, check out our fire sale at our store.

How do I support a brewery? Most breweries are selling growlers and beer cans to go. Instead of waiting in the long lines at the grocery store, check out one of your local breweries near by and give them support.
